Beaches and the Budello
Alassio's long, gently shelving beach is lined with bagni, the traditional beach clubs where you rent a sunbed for the day. Behind it runs the Budello, the narrow main street of the old town, full of shops, bakeries and bars.
The Muretto
The Muretto di Alassio is a wall of ceramic tiles signed by artists, singers and writers who passed through the town. It is a short stroll from the Budello.
Gallinara Island
The island off the coast is a protected marine reserve. Boats leave from the harbour for trips around it, and the clear water is good for snorkelling.
Walks from the villa
You do not need the car to walk. Trails through the hills start at the villa, and an old footpath leads all the way down to the town.
A footpath leads down to Alassio through Solva; hill trails (Solva, Cavia, Monte Castellaro) start from the villa.
The cycle path
A coastal cycle path runs from Alassio towards Andora. We can arrange e-bikes delivered to the villa.
Day trips
Laigueglia and Cervo are two of the prettiest villages on this coast. Albenga has a medieval centre of brick towers. Sanremo and Monaco are an easy day out along the coast.
Eating out
Alassio has everything from beach-club lunches to fried fish by the sea and tasting menus in the hills. We keep a short list of places we like and update it each season: ask us when you book, and we will send it with your arrival details.
